One of the features of MappedUp.com is the enrichment of RSS feeds with geodata. We use the W3C basic geo namespace for that. Some info about this can be found at: http://www.w3.org/2003/01/geo/

Simply put, every <item> of our RSS feeds contains 2 extra tags, <geo:lat> ad <geo:long>, for its geocoordinates. The city of London, for example, has these data:

<geo:lat>51.5</geo:lat>
<geo:long>-0.116667</geo:long>

Next to the <item> tags, geolocations can also be inserted inside the <channel> tag, to point out the origin of the RSS feed in question. The default MappedUp feed has both: www.mappedup.com/rss/

Hi, I added a Geo RSS feed: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/catalogs/eqs7day-M2.5.xml
It has the geo tags you referred.. but they dont show up on the map, just the default location.
Any suggestion. And more important.. do you have a list of Geo RSS News feeds I can subscribe to?

Gracias.. Great product btw!
