Jeroen, I trust that all is well with you and yours.
Congrats on your graduation. I think you were still
a student when we talked last.

Can you believe that 11 months have passed, since
our exchange; wherein you shared that you were working
on an semi-API for Mapped Up. This 'gateway' would allow
for independent databanks to feed into Mapped Up. (See
your highlighted comments just below.)

What happened???? That wonderful idea seems not to
have made it into reality. PLEASE explain.

One of the things I'm very busy with, is expanding the worldmap you
refered to. Right now it's not possible to feed it with other sources
than the RSS aggregation I use. I'm working hard on expanding it and
making a sort-of API, o the map can also plug into other datasources,
such as your databank. Expect this to take at least one more moth
though, since it's a lot of work.

    Best wishes,

And if the site is only designed for certain browsers and/or platforms, you haven't said that, so again, users are left to guess. Even worse, you provide no method of direct contact with anyone, and it looks as though you haven't done any work on this since 2006.

Just signed up today, but noticed when trying to select my hometown (Salem, OR) the list of Salems started with Virginia, then proceeded alphabetically. Unfortunately, the list was cut off after Florida.

I figured, Ok, I'll live with Portland, but typing in Portland does not result in Portland Oregon either. The nearest city I could quickly assign to myself was Seattle Washington.

It appears the list of cities is limited to a select number of cities and does not list all of one city name. Additionally, I can not see any way to modify the city after my account is created.

I've tried entering many other kinds of stuff, like password, rss feed urls, regular expressions, comma separated values, javascript, cuts of famous japanese poems, and on, and all I got more is a few 'can't login' message or something around that.

What's the magic, and why can't I get it?

Best regards.

Hi,

I've installed the Mapped up Desktop, and when it is running I can see the map, but don't get ANY feeds coming in! All I can see is the bubble popping up with "undefined" written inside... I also cannot sign in, and when i go onto the website, my username is not displayed anywhere...

I am using Windows XP sp2, with firefox 3 (latest).

I have a feeling I'm just missing something stupid - can anybody help me please ?!

I have used it before, with no problems, and finally found it again - I really like the app, but obviously it is useless if it doesn't do anything...!

Cheers!
