Side-mounted dual radiators utilize low pressure of airflow passing over outer surface of cowling to draw air through from inside. Side positioning permits flow of air to reach cylinders and exhaust pipes for enhanced cooling efficiency, while facilitating front-cylinder service. At low speeds, a large right-side fan blows air directly out to the side and away from the rider.
Chain-driven water pump located in crook of V between cylinders.
High-efficiency oil cooler mounted in front of front cylinder head.

Chassis/Suspension

Engine-mounted swingarm eliminates need for conventional pivot plates, allowing the twin-spar aluminum frame to weigh only 17.6 pounds. Features massive D-section spars and curved box-section engine hanger-rails that reach back from the steering head to anchor directly on the engine, joining at the back to provide a solid mounting point for the top of the rear shock and the bolt-on seat rail.
41mm Honda Multi-Action System™ (HMAS™) conventional cartridge front fork offers adjustable spring preload and rebound damping.
Pro-Link rear suspension system, mounted directly to the engine cases, features large-volume 40mm damper with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping.
Hybrid construction aluminum swingarm combines extruded spars with a rigid cast pivot section.
Hollow-section, triple-spoke cast aluminum wheels.
Wide-profile jointless-belt-type radial tires with ZR rating for confident long-term performance.
Dual floating front disc brakes with four-piston calipers and sintered metal pads. The 296mm rotors are mated to their aluminum inner rotors with eight inserts. The 220mm rear disc brake is stopped by a single-piston caliper.

The sale includes a series of outstanding lots, highlights of which include a 1901 Panhard-Levassor 2.4-litre Forward Control Cab Phaeton, the only one of its kind still in existence. The Cab is in exceptional condition and eight years ago was the second finisher in the annual London-Brighton Veteran Car Run, demonstrating that it still has good power. The guide price for this lot is £200,000-250,000. The 1896 Benz 5hp Victoria – from literally the dawn of motoring - is another important veteran, estimated at £140,000-180,000.

Another leading lot is the outstanding ex-Alf Briggs and Eric Houseley 1928 McEvoy-JAP motorcycle with a 980cc vee-twin engine. This exquisite motorcycle is estimated at between £120,000-150,000. The colourful 1899 Panhard-Levassor Wagonette is also worth highlighting, with the guide price similarly set at between £120,000-150,000.

Some of the cars in the sale have colourful histories, such as the 1911 RMC Seabrook 20hp Roadster. A top endurance racer – it won the Essex Motor Hill Climb in 1911 – the car was later donated to the War Department. Post-war, the car became a fixture at a boy’s prep school in Kent where it was adapted to roll the cricket pitches. It was from its position on the outfield that the car was spotted, in the 1960s, by a diplomat from the Foreign Office who acquired the vehicle for the princely sum of a pitch-roller and a jar of sweets for the pupils. He lovingly restored the car to its former glories and it is now expected to fetch between £25,000-35,000 at auction. The audience observed the chefs from Park Inn prepare four varieties of salads. After a quiz session they thoroughly enjoyed the magic show.

Parenthood a Family Affair was held in association with Oman Mobile, presented by Qurum City Centre and supported by A’saffa and Park Inn. The event was organised by White Candle Entertainments and electronically supported by Omasco.

Siham Al Riyami, from the Ministry of Education, spoke about the role of children and parents in education. She spoke to children and parents, which turned out to be a lively session. “The children were so open about their thoughts and feelings. I think it was a learning experience for the parents and me. It was great to see the children and parents in an informal setting.

“The children’s response encouraged the parents to join the discussion,” said Siham Al Riyami on Radio Oman’s Road Show that was live from Qurum City Centre on the first day of the event.

Adults and children won gifts on both the days from Oman Mobile and A’saffa. “It was a great time for the whole family but it was also a time to reflect,” said a father whose children participated in the games. Language was no barrier as the show was presented both in Arabic and English.

On the 90.4 Live Show, parents were asked for tips. Mothers gave some valuable advice such as it all depends on how you talk to the children, and not ordering them around, giving examples to follow and praising good behaviour.
